Interscholastic Athletics

Cross Country, Volleyball and Basketball

We continue to look toward the future at Christian Life Academy, and one vision for the future is a growing athletics program.  In the 2009 winter season, we had a basketball team that consisted of eight 4th-7th grade students.  We competed against teams from Bethel Lutheran (Morton), Good Shepherd Lutheran (Pekin) and Cornerstone Christian (Bloomington).

As our school has grown over the last year, so have our sports programs.  In the fall 2009 season, our Cross Country (grades 3-8) and Volleyball (girls in grades 4-7) teams were formed.  Our first "victories" of our brief program came during the fall season, with several trophies earned in 5k runs by our athletes, and our first team victory by the volleyball team.  Our basketball teams, with students in grades 3-8, have won numerous victories in the winter 2009-2010 season, with over a dozen games scheduled with Bethel, Good Shepherd and  Cornerstone, as well as new opponents Faith Baptist (Pekin), St. Mary's (Bloomington) and Robertson (Decatur).

Music

Praising their Creator is something that our children are given many opportunities to participate in.  We hold several concerts each year, where students have the chance to share music with the community.  Students have music class weekly, taught by Mrs. Bowman.

Groups of our students have also shared their music in several places outside of the school. At Christmas, two classes sang Christmas carols at the Hopedale Commons retirement home.  Students have also shared in worship services at local churches.
