The BibleWe attempt to integrate scripture in as many areas of the curriculum as we can. We use the Bible as a source of life, instruction, discipline, encouragement and literature. We know that, according to II Timothy 3:16-17, "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Christian Life Academy uses various curriculum materials throughout our school year. We have attempted to take the best of several different curriculum programs and choose what we feel best benefits all of our students. Here are some examples:
A Beka BookThe A Beka curriculum is published through Pensacola Christian College and does a fine job of presenting academic curriculum at all age levels with a focused approach that integrates the Bible into all areas. Christian Life Academy currently uses A Beka curriculum for language, reading, spelling/vocab, history and science.
Saxon MathematicsChristian Life Academy appreciates the spiral nature of the Saxon curriculum, which is used in our math classes. Students are continually reviewing previous material, which is vital in the area of mathematics, which builds upon previous knowledge. |
