From the Music department:

On Friday,  February 26th,  CLA will be hosting its annual talent show/dinner in the gym!  Dinner will start at 5:30pm, and the talent show will start at 6:00pm.  We could use some volunteers to help with set up/clean up and cooking!  Please contact Mrs. Stribling if you are willing to help.
Talent show auditions will be Thursday, January 28.  Students will have options of auditioning from 2:45-3:20 during the school day OR after school from 3:30-4:15.  All students who wish to participate in the talent show must attend auditions.  Please see Mrs. Stribling to sign up for a time slot.
Band students: Solo and Ensemble contest will be held Saturday, February 27th starting at 9am.  Each band student will be performing a full length solo! Band students, you have 7 weeks until contest, so get practicing!
The Easter program will be held Thursday, March 17 at 7:00pm in the gym.  Mark your calendars!

Our policy is that students will go out for recess every day, unless the weather is very cold (temperature or windchill well below freezing) or precipitation prevents outside recess.  So please make sure that students have hats, gloves and warm coats.  On days when snow is on the ground, children may play in the snow if they have boots.

Weather Delay or Cancellations…
Please “like” the CLA Facebook page.  Information about weather cancellations or delays will be posted by 7 am on the facebook page, so you could use this as your source for information on questionable weather days.  We also (in most cases) follow the Olympia CUSD 16 weather decisions.  Weather delays and cancellations will also be on TV Channels 25 and 31 as well as on their websites.

From the Principal's Desk . . .

I saw a sign the other day… “sports is life” is what it said!  Well, I’m not sure that’s entirely the case, but I do believe we can learn a lot, even about our faith, from something like the sport of basketball. So ask your K-8 child if they could tell you how basketball taught us something about our faith from yesterday’s chapel.  Here’s a hint: “give and go.”  I hope that we are always able to use teachable situations with our students, and help them learn most of all, to follow the Lord!

In Christ,
Mr. Horning
